Since my last post I have made some updates/changes to what and how I carry my pocket tools.
Changes:
- I Swapped my Knipex 125 Cobras for the Cobra 87-100 XS set
- Swapped the 3″ dewalt bits for standard size bits
- Added a #1 PH bit and a 1/4″ Socket adapter
- I ditched the Leather sheaths
- Came up with different carry methods for both tools

The Tools:
- Knipex Cobra Pliers XS 87 00 100
- The Topeaks Ratchet (shown in a diy holder)
- #2 PH bit
- #1 PH bit
- Flate Head bit
- 1/4 Wera Socket adapter

I needed a more efficient way of carrying the knipex pliers and the Topeaks ratchet so they were not just sitting in the bottom of my pocket.
For the knipex, I had some 2″ milspec webbing from previous projects laying around. After about 20 minutes with a sewing machine I ended up with a slim lightweight slip sheath for my belt. This keeps the pliers out of the way until needed and they ride deep enough that I have not had an issue with them falling out.

For the Topeaks I decided to keep them in my pocket but clipped to the top instead of settling at the bottom. This was achieved by using a tech accessories P-7 clip attached(hot glue) to a plastic bit holder. Then I used some shock cord and a cordlock to secure the ratchet to the bit holder. I also have room for some bit storage so I carry 2 sizes of PH bits, a flat blade and a 1/4″ socket adapter by Wera.

This setup definitely distributes the weight better than the leather sheaths I was previously using and frees up pocket space in my jeans. I like the smaller cobras as the size has not limited the usability compared to the 5″ version I had before and the standard bits I chose because the added length of the 3″ bits I did not require as often as I thought I would. All in all this is a progressing experiment. I feel like I am definitely heading in the right direction with these changes.
